Image of Tony Sirimanna

Dr Tony Sirimanna is a Consultant Audiological Physician at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the Head of the Department of Audiology, Audiological Medicine & Cochlear Implant.

He has been at GOSH as a consultant for the past 18 years and an audiological physician since 1989.

Previously, he was an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Surgeon for 10 years, of which two years were spent as a consultant in Sri Lanka. Outside his NHS work, Tony is the Vice Chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Audiological Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in London, Medical Lead for National Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in England and a member of various national committees including an advisory committee for Audiology at the Department of Health.

He has been involved in training junior doctors for over 20 years and hasbeen the chair and the programme director of the Pan London Audiological Medicine Training Committee; he has over 75 publications including several chapters and has conducted a number of research studies.

Tony is a chair of a UK charity called Medical Aid to Sri Lanka and was the treasurer of Medical Aid to Galle and its Environs.
