Michael Gleeson, MD, FRCS, FRACS (Hon), FDS (Hon)
Michael Gleeson is Professor of Otolaryngology and Skull Base Surgery to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery; Emeritus Consultant Otolaryngologist to Kings, and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals and Honorary Consultant Skull Base Surgeon to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
Professor Gleeson trained at Guy’s Hospital and undertook a chief residency at the University of Washington in the United States before fellowship training at the University of Zürich in Switzerland.
He has been President of the Section of Otology at the Royal Society of Medicine and is currently President of the World Federation of Skull Base Societies.
Professor Gleeson is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Neurological Surgery – Skull Base and past editor of Scott-Brown’s Otorhinolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery – the major ENT postgraduate text.
In addition to lecturing all around the world, he has personal experience of combating the causes of hearing loss developing countries.
