Gregory Bock was educated in Australia and was awarded a PhD from Monash University in 1969. From 1969 until 1985 he held academic research posts in Australia, the UK, the USA, and France, returning to the UK in 1978 to set up the Physiology Laboratory in the new MRC Institute of Hearing Research.
He was awarded the DSc degree by the University of Queensland in 1986 for his research publications on abnormalities of auditory development.
From 1985 to 2008 he was Deputy Director of a medical research charity which organized small international research meetings and published books.
He has been a Trustee of HCC since its inception.
