Respecting the rights of people with disability

The Hearing Conservation Council recognizes that many causes of hearing loss are not preventable and that deaf people can and do live active, full lives and that their unique culture merits the full respect of society. Our emphasis is on conserving the hearing of millions of people for whom avoidable hearing loss, particularly in childhood or old age, is a frustrating and preventable incapacity.
